Sweet Chopper came to LR because his family is experiencing a hardship and can't keep him. His previous owner said he was also good with their 3 cats.
Chopper Update from his foster family: Sweet, Loving, and extremely loyal. Medium energy and medium in size. Loves to go for rides and walks. Fairly good on the leash and will play fetch, with the right kind of throw toy. Can be a little possessive of his people, will emit a low growl when other dogs approach, but has not actually tried to attack another dog. May not be good in a home with a timid, shy, or submissive dog. Not the type of dog to take where there are many other dogs. Dog parks and dog beaches would probably not be a good idea, but neighborhood walks and hiking trails would be fine for him. He is very smart and trainable. He is housebroken, and will use a crate, if need be. Does not chew, counter cruise, or trash dive. He was recently neutered by Labrador Rescuers. It was discovered that he has Hypothyroidism during his vetting with us. The Hypothyroidism is easily treated through a low cost twice daily medication. Other than the slight thyroid problem, he is extremely healthy. He acts much younger than his nine years. He will make someone or some family a loving and loyal companion. Could he be your companion?
