Furlough and his brother (or perhaps father), Che, came to Lab Rescuers due to the death of their owner. No family came forward, so these boys had to wait over 2 weeks for someone to rescue them.
Furlough is 100 lbs of pure love. He was recently diagnosed with a thyroid condition which has contributed to his hefty build. The thyroid medication, along with diet and exercise, will help him get to a healthy weight of about 80 lbs. He will need to continue on this medication, but the cost is equivalent to a once weekly trip to Starbucks. He will need a family committed to his weight loss needs so he can become the Lab he is meant to be.
Furlough is sweet to his foster dog sister and is great with his foster family’s kids. He is great with other dogs and is also fine with cats. He has learned to use a doggy door and is trustworthy in the home as he is housebroken and non-destructive. He loves riding in the car and going for walks. He loves people, but he’s not a velcro dog and allows people and other animals their own space. He has good manners, takes treats gently, does not jump on people, and does not counter surf. Furlough is a mature, laid back guy who is really just a big ol’ lovebug.
