This is our sweet Betsy. Betsy is a still a pup and got off to a rough start in life. Somehow this girl ended up at a shelter, and we know those can be scary places for most dogs. Fortunately, LR was called by the shelter to rescue this girl. She was found by animal control along with a labrador. The labrador got adopted at the shelter, but Betsy was left behind.
Betsy appears to be part Doberman Pinscher, she has red markings on her face and legs, and the cutest ears. Her ears sometimes flop over and lay across her head, as if she's trying to cover up a bad hair day.
Betsy spent sometime with a trainer to help her learn to be more comfortable with people. She has learned some obedience commands and it is helping her build her confidence and comfort with people. She wants to be near her foster mom but isn't sure what to expect from people yet. She'll need a patient family to let her build her trust and bring her out of her shell. She likes it when her people are lounging on the couch then she will come and cuddle, play and even give kisses. She is crate trained, very sweet, friendly to dogs and cats too.
We have learned that Betsy would be happiest in a home where there is another friendly active dog to play with. Her foster mom had a 1-2 year old foster dog come to stay and Betsy was in heaven. They would chase and wrestle and play, play, play!
