Meet Claude, poor boy was found as a stray on the streets in a terrible state. He was dropped off at the local shelter where they deemed him Rescue only due to his need for immediate vet care.
Claude has Alopecia/hair thinning throughout his body, head, chest and legs, he also has several ulcerated skin tags lesions and small masses, all this will be dealt with before he is available for adoption. He is also very emaciated, so we are going to get him on some good groceries and get him to a healthy weight.
Despite his health issues Claude is a smashing fella, he is happy and waggy and seems to be good with other dogs, giving them a nice lick and tail wag. Claude is good in the car but can do with some brush up on his leash manners.
UPDATE: Claude has been renamed Sawyer by his fosters. Sorry, but Claude sounded too much like we were calling him "Clod". He has put on some weight and his hair is growing back in nicely. It is amazing what a good steady diet can do. He still needs to be neutered and will also have various skin masses and tags removed, so it will still be awhile before he is adoptable. But he is a great dog and worth the care and expense. He is very well behaved, and has become very attached to his people. And he gets along with the other dogs that his foster has, extremely well. He is such a happy Dudley Boy! He will make someone a great dog and companion.
UPDATE: Sawyer has had his vetting completed, and is now back with us. He is doing well, but he is hurting right now. Doc Flores at Lakeside Veterinary Hospital did his neuter, removed a large growth from his chest, and also removed numerous skin tags (including the one below his left eye). Poor boy! But he will get better. LVH also trimmed back his long nails and micro-chipped him while he was under. He will take awhile to heal now, but should be ready to be adopted in 3-4 weeks. He has a 10 day supply of a strong pain-killer, so he is as comfortable as possible right now.
Looking forward to taking him to his first adoption event!
UPDATE: Sawyer has had his stiches and staples removed and is healing extremely well and quickly. His fosters believe that he is now ready to be adopted! Please give this sweet Dudley Boy a forever home. You won't regret the decision to make him part of your home and family. If you are interested in meeting Sawyer, please contact your Home Visit Rep, and arrangements can be made.
I am good with other dogs and small children, but not good with cats.
