Description: Skye was left at a shelter by his owners who said they were moving. He was immediately placed in the medical area of the shelter due to his condition-ear infections, hair loss in several areas of his body and sores on his back. When our volunteer saw him in his kennel, he wagged his hairless tail with excitement. It's sad to see a dog who has not been cared for, but he is now safely with us and will get the treatment he deserves. He's super sweet, good on the leash and in the car. Skye was listed as a lab/Standard poodle cross. We can't wait to watch him blossom! Please check back for updates!

Update from his foster 8/1 I have had Skye for almost a month and I cannot say enough great things about him. You would think a dog who has been through the ringer like he has would hate people but he is such a love. He was said to be a Standard Poodle/Retriever mix but he looks to me more like an Irish Wolfhound/Retriever. He loves all dogs, cats, kids, you name it! He listens really well and does well off leash with commands. He has great manners, knows sit, down, stay and shake. The vet believes the main reason he lost most of his fur was due to a thyroid issue, he will be on meds for the rest of his life to treat this, it is just a small pill twice a day. I have been giving him a medicated bath twice a week and his skin is finally healing and some hair on his tail, chest and belly are starting to sprout. I can't wait to see how handsome he is with a full head of hair. :) Skye is a such a sweet caring dog, I can't wait for him to find his forever home!
