The previous owners who had Toby never took him to the vet. I met the previous owners because they wanted to surrender their cats into a cat rescue I volunteer for. My rescue took the cats and they called a week later asking to give Toby for being “too old”
Toby’s new foster mom LOVES Toby. She spoils him so much. The rescue does not have enough funds to get him his needed surgery so she kindly paid it out of her out pocket. This fundraising will help her with the expenses and all his future expenses.
Toby is 10 years old.
His surgery is set for August 10th, 2018. He is getting crypt orchid surgery and dental. He has two rotten teeth that needs to be removed.
I have fostered Toby for nearly two weeks. What I have seen is complete love from a dog that was left outside chained to the front porch his whole life. He LOVES walks and loves to fetch. He also is the typical Labrador, so his temperament is very sweet and loving. Although Toby does like to admire dogs from afar, he would do best in a single dog home. He loves to be outside as well as inside. I am currently working on getting him healthy again. He came to me with lots of issues. Bad skin from sitting outside, kennel cough, arthritis, anxiety, etc. All of this right now is being treated as I am doing round the clock treatment so he is healthy for his new forever home.
Please contact.

Frenchy is currently 9 months old and 70 pounds. Her sister (an exact clone of Frenchy and already adopted) had a DNA test which revealed: AmStaff, Labrador and Greyhound. Frenchy is great in her crate and in the car. She walks well on the leash. She gets along great with other dogs (loves to play with her foster brother and sister) and is enamored with the cat. For a puppy, she is pretty mellow. Her energy level is described as mellow to medium, with normal spurts of puppy energy. She is very happy with short walks. With people, she can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly, and continues working on her socializing skills. She is a lap dog and loves to snuggle on the couch in the evenings. Her favorite playthings are rope toys and peanut butter filled chew bones. She is sweet and silly with quite a personality. Frenchy is available for adoption through It’s The Pits Dog Rescue. Kopper’s time in rescue has been long, exposing him to many situations where we learned more and more about his needs, behaviors and figuring out his past. Too bad dogs can’t just sit down and talk with us over a beer……

Kopper is a dog (most likely) trained to be a hunting retriever. They most likely did not socialized him with other dogs much, which has been the primary challenge during his time in rescue. We have worked with trainers and his fosters and he is doing much better, now that he trusts, and has a protocol to follow.
He loves his stuffed toys though, gathering them in piles after giving each amply chew-time. He is housetrained and well-mannered inside and out. He loves all people (not a guard dog, for sure). He is good with kids, but we feel an all-adult home where they love to work with smart dogs is best. He is eager to please and loves to run fast. He can hike for hours.
Kopper is SMART - a high energy and high prey driven pup, in rescue with SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GOLDEN RETRIEVER RESCUE. He is living in the San Fernando Valley with his foster family. If you believe Kopper would love living with your family, please email his Representative and SCGRRescue.org Volunteer at loriyalem@yahoo.com.
