Thank you for your interest in adopting a lab! We have wonderful labs and rescue more every day.

• Our adoption process starts with submitting an Adoption Application. We adopt dogs to homes in San Diego, Orange and surrounding counties.

• Once you submit an application, please visit our Adoption Donation page to submit your application fee. You may also remit payment via check to:

• You will be contacted by a Labrador Rescuers Volunteer to review your application and schedule a homevisit. This is where an adoption representative will visit you at home to help determine what type of dog would work well for your family. We try to schedule homevisits within a week of applying.

• Once you are Approved to Adopt your new 4 legged friend, an Adoption Representative will assist you by guiding you to the dogs that are best matched with you and your family. You can then meet the dogs in our Foster Family homes, at our Boarding Facilities located throughout the county or by attending one of our amazing Adoption Events (details at www.labrescuers.org) to meet several dogs at once.

• Your Labrador finds you! Once the adoption paperwork and the donation/fee are submitted, you can Welcome your New Dog to their Forever Home!

We carefully match each dog to the right family based on the needs of each, so we don't reserve dogs or adopt dogs on a "first served" basis. Instead, we work to ensure that when our dogs find their forever family this time, that it is a perfect match for them. This means that our dogs and families find happier endings, like Linus did!
